This weekend I'll be back up in New England playing a few quartet shows with my dear friend and mandolinist extraordinaire, Joe K. Walsh. We'll also make our way towards the Southeast for a few dates at the beginning of November. The tour is celebrating the release of Joe's brand new album, Borderland.
With the release day of Nothing We Say EP coming up in a few days, Sept 30, I wanted to share a little more about the making of the album. In the end, it is the music that stands, but I am fascinated by process, particularly that of other musicians and artists, and for that reason, wanted to share a little about the journey and place in which this project was made.
After a busy summer, full airplanes, and van time and festivals and sunshine, I am finally back home in Brooklyn. Just in time for a northeast autumn. Rarely have I been in the city in long enough stints to feel an urge for disciplined escape from the “ island of gneiss and concrete and glass" as Olivia Laing describes it.
Hi guitar friends, I am venturing into a new realm of online teaching and will be conducting an online group workshop through the month September, back to school style.
