Courtney began teaching private music lessons while still in high school, and throughout the years, has continued to teach guitar both privately and in festival and workshop settings around the world. She has taught at camps throughout the country, including Grand Targhee Music Camp and Rockygrass Academy. Her passion is to instill in a student the ability to express themselves musically, in their guitar playing, singing and writing, through technique, songs and improvisation. Lessons are shaped around a student's ability level and the areas they want to focus on.
Courtney is based in Brooklyn and teaches a small number of local students when at home, but do to Courtney's travel schedule the majority of her instruction is done online, via Skype. Online lessons are a excellent way for students to receive lessons regardless of where they live. Students ranging from relative newcomers all the way to advanced students who are drawn to Courtney's musical approach, can benefit from regular, or one-off Skype lessons.
